Ski and Hotel Management School

The School of Ski and Hotel Management is unique in Europe, it enables students to combine both a professional career in sports and a professional training.

Duration: 4 Years
Compulsory Internship: 24 Weeks 
Admission Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the 8th school year
  • Secondary school students, who were in the 3rd merit group in either German, English or Mathematics, must complete an entrance examination in these subjects
  • A ski sport and motor function entrance exam is mandatory

In the four year programme your individual development in professional skiing is the main focus. Alongside to training in skiing a profound education in tourism and hospitality is offered Regular multi-day training sessions are permanently integrated into the training plan and business management and tourism knowledge is transmitted in a very compact form. General education, tourism, business administration and marketing are also part of the course content as are two foreign languages​​ and communication and law. Practical courses, the training at the school-owned training hotel, project work and field trips prepare students for a possible career in the tourism and hospitality industry.


Laptop Classes - Always Connected 

In January and February, the focus is on ski training. The school trainers are responsible for creating customized training units for all students. Classes are run as laptop classes enabling you to stay in contact with your teachers during competitions and training-intensive period.


The school year is divided into three phases

1st Semester (mid-September until 2nd week of February)
Phase 1: from September until Christmas (14 weeks)

  • 30 days snow training on the glacier (daily 5-8 hours)
  • 4 days a week endurance training (daily 3 - 4 hours)
  • Sports and materials science, training analysis
  • 13 Thursdays or Fridays full day practical training (blocked)
  • 28/32 days (Mon - Thu) Regular classes (theoretical subjects)
  • Saturday off or Compensation lessons
  • Christmas holidays


Phase 2: from 7 January to the end of the 1st week of March

  • Snow and endurance training  from Monday afternoon to Friday afternoon
  • Exemptions are granted during races
  • Semester vacations 

2. Semester (3rd week of February until the end of school year)
Phase 3: from the 2nd Week of March to end of school year

  • Monday to Friday, regular classes (theory and practical training - partly in the training hotel Grand Park Hotel)
  • Endurance training 10 hours a week
  • Three Wednesdays in March snow training in the morning

Hotel management School graduates and graduates of the Ski and Hotel Management School can transfer to the 3rd or 4th year of the Higher School of Tourism. Prerequisite is the successful completion of all transfer tests.
