The School of Hotel Management is ideal for young people who are looking for a wide-ranging practical education. On completion of the course you have a wide range of career options.

Duration: 3 Years
Compulsory Internship: 24 Weeks
Admission Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the 8th school year or a polytechnic course
  • Secondary school students, who were in the 3rd merit group in a compulsory subject (German, English, Mathematics), have to pass an entrance examination in the subjects concerned.

The School of Hotel Management is the shortest way to enter directly into professional life. You get an insight into the different areas of the hospitality industry allowing you to realize your personal strengths and interests and specialize accordingly.

The general module includes general education, Business Administration, communication skills and foreign languages. Specific subjects in tourism and hospitality management include F&B Mangement, Hotel Management and practical subjects such as Restaurant Management and Culinary Arts. Great projects and field trips additionally support the learning process. Besides the mandatory curriculum you can acquire additional qualifications such as 'Young Somelier'.

 

Target Group

The course is especially suitable for young people who want to keep all options open, either starting their career directly after graduation or continuing with their studies and completing their university entrance qualification examination. Upon graduation students receive a Europe-wide accredited Diploma in Hotel Management including the professional and business license for the hospitality industry in Austria. Thus, it is not only possible to enter directly into a career in tourism at home and abroad but also to open a business or take over the family business.

 

Location Specific Specialisations

The School of Hotel Management is offered at three locations of the Tourism Schools Salzburg, each with a different specialization.

In the School of Hotel Management in Bad Hofgastein, the area of Specialisation is Hotel and Gastronomy Management.

In the School of Hotel Management in Bischofshofen, the area of Specialisation is Culinary Arts.

In the School of Hotel Management in Bramberg, the area of Specialisation is Sustainable Tourism.
